• Description: For the first time ever, the beautiful Michigan State University campus will play home to a sprint-distance triathlon consisting of a 400-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5-kilometer run on Sunday, October 12, 2008. The race is open to both the public and collegiate athletes and is being hosted by the Michigan State Triathlon Team and 3Disciplines Racing as part of the US Collegiate Triathlon Series.
  
  Named the Spartan Sprint Triathlon, the race is truly located on campus, with swimmers lapping the IM Sports West outdoor pool, bikers circling the perimeter of campus and runners enjoying the natural beatuy of the Red Cedar River.
