"If you want a full-featured fitness watch/tool but don't need GPS this is a very good choice. The watch looks nice, with the available accessories it measures everything I need. A nice improvement over the Forerunner 50. For comparison's sake, it's the 305 with no GPS."matt_d

pretty straightforward to get the garmin software installed. Pairing devices (speed/cadence for bike & foot pod for the run) is very easy.

Setting up the watch and customising the display screens is easy to do. Menus are intuitive, much more so than the Forerunner 50.

so far so good, but it's a new product, so hard to say.

(5)

Fits like a regular watch, comfortable as any other fitness watch.

(5)

it's a watch, it's adjustable.

too early to tell.

I think this is a great value if you don't need GPS and don't need the fitness lab functionality of a Sunnto or Polar, but want a full-featured watch that measures speed, distance, heartrate for running & biking.

nice looking watch.

Works nicely as a cycling computer, 3 line display is nice, and you can setup the display to show whatever you feel is important. You can also setup several different displays and autoscroll through them.

Versatile watch, can be worn while swimming, used as a very capable cycling computer (with the speed/cadence sensor), and does a very good job on the run. You can setup different settings for each sport, including display, auto-lap distance, auto-pause. The foot pod is very accurate once calibrated, and the running cadence is a very useful metric for improving running economy. Virtual training partner is a nice feature not found on the Forerunner 50.

Heart-rate monitor is good, but not as good as polar's or Suunto's IMO. While it is easier to switch between sports than the Forerunner 50, it's still not quite as easy as I'd like it to be (you have to hold the mode button, then scroll down to the new sport and hit enter). Not a huge deal, but not as nice as a true mult-sport mode.
The MSRP is $199 for the watch, HR monitor, & footpod. I already had the foot-pod & bike sensors, so I was able to pick it up for $110, but it can be a bit pricey to get everything initially.
