Run
Comments: My previous best half-marathon was north of 2:10, so I'm happy with this performance. I think I was a little low on fuel in the tank - just didn't have my normal kick at the end. Once the sun came out I started to fade a bit. Really am happy overall though. What would you do differently?: Never have gotten this fat - so maybe 20 lbs lighter. Stop aging. I would have taken a beer at mile 7 from the party tent on the side of the road- I was too far off to the right to get over, and thought that might be a bad idea (silly me) Post race
Warm down: Grabbed, in order: One water bottle. One banana. One basket of pretzels. Then when Tracy crossed, I went back and repeated. Met some friends after the race, saw how they did. Finally, finished up with 2 brats from Brat Fest and scarfed them down while listening to some band where the lead male singer sounded like a woman. They were ok. What limited your ability to perform faster: The laws of physics. Event comments: It's a great race. Big enough to feel like you are in a race and have spectators, but not the cattle drive that Indy can sometimes feel like. I would have liked to have seen more porta-potties on the course, but that's trivial. I'd do it again. Last updated: 2009-04-13 12:00 AM

Saturday - Biked from Pewaukee to Madison. That was an awesome ride - outside of the two downpours. Wasn't much traffic, lots of nice hills to play with. We were staying at a hotel out in Middleton so had to haul around to the other side of town, but was a good workout.
Went to eat at an Italian place next to Eno Vino - I miss that bar. Had nice dinner with our old neighbors.
Sun morning - woke up about 5:20am, downed a bottle of Infinit while packing to check out of our room. Wound up being really late because traffic was backed up quite a ways. Got there about 7:05 for 7:30am start. Took my no-doze as per habit.
Ran to start line, fought through crowd into cattle pen. Decided to start with Tracy in the 2:00 pace group, to see how my legs would react after the ride and to try to keep me from going out too fast.
