Event warmup:

Swam about 200 meters.
Swim
  • 28m 55s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

Felt pretty good on this swim. Started out wide to stay out of the crap. Rounded the buoys a little further out then I wanted. Had some difficultly navigator, but only got slightly off course. It was hard to draft as the water was so dirty you could see a pair of feet in front of your face.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure.
Transition 1
  • 01m 22s
Comments:

About a 100yd run up to transition. Had shoes on bike and was good to go, just put helmet on and took off.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 1h 09m 53s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 21.34 mile/hr
Comments:

Started out and felt really good. Did the first out and back section then came back past transition and started hitting the hills. Having not been on this course wasn't sure of the gears I should be in. Course was a little crowded and on the 1 main downhill I was doing 42mph with 4 wide. Finished my 1st lap in 34 mins so was right no pace for what I wanted. Was a bit slower on the 2nd lap but made better gear choices I think. Wind picked up a bit as well.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 2
  • 01m 18s
Comments:

My T2 is still slow because I put socks on but my feet can't handle the shoes without them. Need to practice this to get better.
What would you do differently?:

Practice
Run
  • 47m 15s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

It was starting to get hot on the run, but was feeling good. Did the 1st mile in 7:15. Then started to hit the hills. Next couple miles were slower but still felt good. Hills were hard but never felt like I was under trained for them. Had a strong finish
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. PR on a 10k
Post race
Warm down:

Found some shade and a cold water

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training over the summer and specifically a lack of hill training.

Event comments:

Great race, great course
