Led for the 1st 1/4 mile and then backed into a more moderate pace. Ended up 6th O/A headed into T1.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Maybe try and hold initial start pace for another 1/4 mile.

Nothing.

What would you do differently?:

Go a bit harder. HR was lower than I could have maintained.

Comments:

A bit too slow. Needed to drink water while running with bike...forgot. Took time to drink while trying to change shoes...not really a good idea.

My brain.

Event comments:

Left early (work) and heard later that no results became available post-race. CEP Timing had computer issues, but I found results Monday afternoon on their site...

Hard to determine exact time....but based on Garmin data it is pretty close. Road was quite rough in several areas and had one triathlete drafting on me for about 5 miles.

Loop seemed to go on forever...and I thought my time was going to be really, really slow. The 20:40 was only 25 seconds off of my goal of 20:15. HR was around 172 for the most part (too low) and climbed into my normal race HR of 185 near the finish.
Course: Mostly dirt path. Fairly rough and undulating for a long portion of the course. Some soft patches as well.
