Comments:

Race start time: 7:00AM, temp upper 60's, sunny, windy.

Warmup: Light jogging near starting line.

For the first two miles of the run it was elbow to elbow. When I reached mile 7 I had to go into my run/walk routine until the end of the race. It was hot and I was cooked! In addition to the elements of heat and wind the course was rolling....nothing much flat about it. Tough! Most difficult half marathon I have run to date; this was my fifth and second of this year.

Event comments:

Largest Half Marathon race I have run so far. Guess I should have started at a slower pace, But I don't know if that would have made much difference. Anyway, my fifth place finish was still enough for an award. Age group awards went 5 deep; Nice! This race had the most porta-potties in one place that I have ever seen.
