  • Comments: Largest Half Marathon race I have run so far. Guess I should have started at a slower pace, But I don't know if that would have made much difference. Anyway, my fifth place finish was still enough for an award. Age group awards went 5 deep; Nice! This race had the most porta-potties in one place that I have ever seen.

  • Comments: Good early season race. First part of race (2miles) slight downhill and straight.

  • Comments: Plenty of volunteers and good crowd support through most of the race. Some of the water stations couldn't keep up with the number of runners though. It was a little warmer than expected so that probably didn't help.

  • Comments: They did get started a few minutes late, but I'm not going to count off too much since it gave me one extra trip to the porta-john. Overall, very happy with this race. It was my first half-marathon and the first time I'd ever run 13 miles in one sitting. The crowds and volunteers were awesome - and meeting up with my high school buddies I hadn't seen in 20 years made the whole weekend awesome.

  • Comments: The race is very well done (more port-a-pottys and a wider race start next year please). The volunteers were very helpful and pleasant. I made sure to thank many of them.

  • Comments: PR by 4:45- one of the best efforts I have ever had in a race. I really had low expectations going into this race with limited run training due to injury, but I think the rest going in may have been helpful. Also I drank a bit too much partying Friday night and was still a little under the weather this morning- felt fine once I got going though. This was the first big race I have been in, and it was AWESOME. Quite the spectacle seeing 17k people lined up to race. Really a great atmosphere and will definitely be back next year. One other note: I still SUCK at drinking on the run.

  • Comments: Was good, just rained entire time. Post-race was a mud-fest as a result. Oh well. Can't win with weather every time.

  • Comments: The course is interesting, given the change in elevation, landmarks, turns, etc. It helps keep things fresh. The only thing they could have done was order better weather! All in all, a quality race, with a good longsleeve technical shirt that I'll be proud to wear in public.

  • Comments: The first water station was just before mile 3 and a lot of folks were anticipating it earlier in the course. It was likely misplaced by volunteers. But everything was always well stocked when I ran through.

  • Comments: there were supposed to be bands all over the course, which i was excited about. i thought the atmosphere would be awesome. but over the entirety of the race, i saw 1 dude with a bongo drum, and a dorky guy with a synthesizer. my favorite part was the group that had a tiny boombox playing the Eye of the Tiger. kinda weak, but still pretty cool. ~B
