Comments: this was not a race for me - just a training run. shooting for sub 10 minute miles. made sub 9's without pushing. last two miles might have been my fastest. very encouraging training run. What would you do differently?: excellent first race of the season Post race
Warm down: about a mile to the top of the park for festivities. What limited your ability to perform faster: at this point in my training this was as fast as I wanted to go. hydration, rest, and carb load the night before excellent. Got up around 5:20 to leave by 6:30.
oatmeal and toast with coffee and water for breakfast. Took three Gu's for the race - used two.
dropped off at 7am for 8am start. very cold in the shade.
walked a mile to the start line, then a few sprints up the road.
