Comments:

T1 consisted of a .3 mile run on gravel and blacktop which hurt my feet a ton so I couldn't really run very fast. Next time I will bring a pair of shoes to slip on after I get out of the water.

A couple of miles into the bike I finally had calmed down from the swim. Then I really started to have fun. I loved the hills, passing people on the way up, and speeding down the other side.

By the time the run started it was really starting to get warm out. I focused on staying comfortable and not going out too fast in the beginning

Course: I did a 5 minute swim before starting which was good. I adjusted my timing chip band since it felt loose once I got in the water. The wetsuit felt good, though a couple of times the neck felt too tight. But I got past that. I mostly swam freestyle the whole time. I was better at sighting and swimming straight compared to past races. But I still felt really anxious and on the verge of panicking the whole time. I never felt like I could catch my breath. So I was shocked to see that I took off nearly 6 minutes from the last 1/2 mile swim I did at the tri in OR.
