Swim
Comments: I swam ok. I am at a point in my swimming where 1:40 to 1:45 per 100M is an easy pace that keeps me in pretty decent position. I am going to get with a masters group after this season and try to knock that down to 1:30 to 1:35. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: I need to keep my shoes clipped in and cut about 30 seconds on my swim transition. I am looking for easy ways to make up time and this is an obvious one. What would you do differently?: Get faster. Bike
Comments: This is where I really need to work on making up some time. I was feeling pretty decent about my bike training coming into this race but I simply am not as fast as I need to be. The course was very hilly and felt like I did an "ok" job on the way out (24 mph avg)...but just got wrecked on the way back in. Chris (leegoocrap) started almost three minutes behind me on the bike and still passed me before transition. I know he is a good biker but that is a crazy amount of time to make up over a 10 mile course. Time to get some advice from you guys on how to pick up the speed! What would you do differently?: Get faster. Transition 2
Comments: I need to get out of my shoes and run into transition. I am still unclipping and stopping before dismount. This could save a few seconds. What would you do differently?: Practice. Run
Comments: Pretty good run. I was well aware that the people in front of me in my age group were a couple minutes ahead and I wasn't feeling running sub 6:00 miles to make up that time. I still need to do some speed work, but I think running is still my stronger discipline. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Hung out and hydrated. Dad got 3rd in his age group so we waited for awards and watched him pick up his trophy. Event comments: I wanted to click the "too hard" for course evaluation...but I think I might just be a sissy. Although they do need to change the term "relatively flat" in the run description. RaceDayEvents did not disappoint again. Very well organized and run. Last updated: 2012-05-29 12:00 AM

I woke up and had my usual peanut butter and bagel. This race was my first tri ever last year and having a crappy transition spot didn't help anything. So I was there bright and early to get an end spot. Dad was doing this race too, so we hung out and chatted until we were ready to swim.
Did 100 Meters in the pool just to get the blood flowing.
