Swim
Comments: Seemed a little fast to be believable, there must have been current or a short course (or everyone was so cold they went way faster to get out). It felt like a 21-22 minute pace to me. Transition 1
Comments: Long run to T1, very cold and feet hurt. Had trouble mounting due to being cold and shaky. What would you do differently?: Have flip-flops for run from water to T1 (about .3 mile). Bike
Comments: Rainy and slow, and I think the rain affected my components somehow (Dura Ace), I have never had this issue before or after the race but my front derailleur wouldn't go into the small chainring about half the time, and of course that was on the biggest climbs and I was stuck fighting up the hill in the big ring. What would you do differently?: Wear my toe covers and gloves for warmth and rain protection. It was miserable and not fun at all. Transition 2
Comments: My fingers were numb and I couldn't make them unclick my helmet. I literally spent at least :45, maybe even a full minute just messing with the stupid thing, I almost gave up and ran with the helmet. Also numb feet hurt again running barefoot through transition. What would you do differently?: Wear gloves and toe covers on cold and rainy days. Run
Comments: Pushed hard, set a new 10K PR by almost 2 minutes (from my best open time)! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: Cold Event comments: The rain is the only downer, Rev3 does it right. Last updated: 2013-06-05 12:00 AM
