Event warmup:

Swim
  • 7h 56m
  • 437 yards
  • 1h 48m 49s / 100 yards
Comments:

it was a U. All females, began at once, and then we met the olympic people on the way back, WAYYY to crowded, really couldn't find my pace at all.
What would you do differently?:

start at a corner like I did last time, get a pace, maybe go on the side so I can pass, and I won't get stuck with some girl that is swimming "frog style" in front of me- the olympic distance dude on the lefts, and then the elite chick on the right... yeeah totally know how a cuban sandwhich feels like

Transition 1
  • 02m 56s
Comments:

there's this nice run to T1, one of my buddy's was there with a hose taking sand off our feet, quite fabulous I may say!
What would you do differently?:

run faster.
Bike
  • 41m 28s
  • 13 miles
  • 18.81 mile/hr
Comments:

i was stuck with some olympic distance guys that wouldn't let me pass them, and when i did, they proceeded to pass me, they would ride next to eachother, it was quite annoying...but whatever, the ocean and the wind and the weather was soo awesome, that i didn't really care.
What would you do differently?:

smoke those guys and not worry about my legs not keeping up...
Transition 2
  • 00m 48s
Comments:

fine, i almost fell of my bilke while geting off" again!"

Run
  • 23m 48s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 39s  min/mile
Comments:

So, I was struck with a dilemma at mile 2.... had a gilr my age group in front of me... she looked SUPER FIT! So i thought...if I pass her, she will totally know my age and pump it up, or keeo close and then smoke me in the last 200 meters... so maybe its better to be behind her and then run my A$$ off right before the end..so after 1 minute of this back and forth, i just said...screw it, lets pass her and just go all out...so I did..sorta.

What would you do differently?:

I had a nice steady pace the entire run, it was very pleasant despite the suepr hot hot weather.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank 3 bottles of water and a gatorade.. yeah seriously dehydrated.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

my other brother forcing me to run up a bridge with no socks and after swimming in the ocean for like 45 minutes= which resulted in shaffing and a serious blister in one of my feet... not knowing my limits.. i could have pushed harder.

Event comments:

awesome race. Had fun with my lil bro.. saw him on the bike ride...he did a great great job! We both improved and are now officially freaked out about the olympic distance tri in September..
