Pre-race routine:

I got up early to get some time on the bike trainer (can't miss my challenge miles), followed that up with a little breakfast of the normal fare (cereal, banana, coffee, and OJ). Picked up Dexter and Marmadaddy. Cut it a little close getting to the race site 15 minutes before race time. I still had to register.
Event warmup:

Running to the registration and back to the car to put on the race number and get rid of some extra cloths.

Comments:

I was still in the parking lot when the race started but headed to the start. Full stride when I hit the start line, but it only cost me 5 or 10 seconds. Caught Dexter and backed it down a bit. He was looking at a goal time and I just wanted to run for training so I figured I would pace him a little to see if he was good (he was). Held the pace through the hills for a while, it was actually a fairly hilly course for a 5K. Turned the corner with about half a mile to go and opened it up a bit to the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. Maybe lose a little weight but this was a training run with friends!!
Post race
Warm down:

Enjoyed the post race food and socialization.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Other than I am not a naturally fast runner, nothing.

Event comments:

These guys do a good job.
