Swim
Comments: What I lack in speed on the swim I make up for in my ability to sight and swim straight. It was a really decent swim for me. I was proud of myself for staring in the front. I think ding that at Disco and realizing that I could swim in the crowd made me more comfortable. I really did not get hit much but there was some shoving going on. I gave as much as I got though. What would you do differently?: Get faster but overall I am not unhappy with the effort. No issues Transition 1
Comments: 1st in AG! Pretty decent run to the transition area. Good transition thanks to Aaron. Still need to get to the point where I keep my shoes clipped in but did the hole flying mount thing. Steve said I passed a bunch of people who stopped to get on their bikes. What would you do differently?: Leanr the shoe clipped in thing. Bike
Comments: Race of issues continued. About a mile into the ride. I was looking at the girl next to me, well, actually looking at her bike because she was riding a QR Dule which is the bike I am drooling over. Hit a pothole and my bike started making the horrible rattling noise. Took a minute to realize that my front skewer had opened. That could have been tragic if the wheel popped off. So, I had to pull over and fix it. That probably cost me a minute. Other than that, the bike was uneventful although hllier than I remember. What would you do differently?: Check my skewer before the race starts. Transition 2
Comments: 1st in AG Awesome flying dismount. Got to my rack and there was only 1 sock there. I was pissed. I was going to go sockless but I have been getting blisters on my right arch so I decide to wear socks. I know that both ocks were in the shoes before I left for the swim. Decided to wear the sock on my right foot and go sockless on the left. What would you do differently?: Not lose a sock Run
Comments: The run was about a half a mile long. I cannot understand why, on an out and back, they could not make the course the right length, just turn us around earlier. If I knew the run was long, that would be OK but mentally, when you are expecting 3.1 and you get 3.65 it is frustrating. I did OK though and actually passed quite a few people. What would you do differently?: I need to get faster and the only way that is going to happen is to run with other people. Post race
Warm down: Crossed, got some water and tried to cool down. They did something pretty cool. You could go to the scoring table and they would give you a printout of your times. As soon as I got mine I realized that for the second time in 2 weeks they had me in AG not athena. No issues getting it changed. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just need to keep pushing myself to get faster. I know it's in me, I just need to pull it out. But my goal was to place and I did. If the run was the right distance, I would have easily beat my time from last year. I was 3 minutes slower but a half a mile longer so I am happy with that Event comments: This is the 3rd year and the third time I have done this race. I really like it. Just two areas of opportunity. They needed more than one aid station on the run and make the run the right distance. I will be back next year. Last updated: 2008-04-19 12:00 AM

Had a terrible night before. Battled a terrible bout of acid reflux that kept me up until about 1. When the alarm went off at 5 I was not really excited. Loaded up the car, made a PB and banana on a bagel. Picked up mom and headed to Las Colinas. The parking is very convenient is a garage right next to the transition area.
Racked my bike IN THE WRONG SPOT! The week before, at Disco, my number was 331. Today I was 334 but for some reason I really wanted to be 331 and racked there. Somebody pointed out my mistake and I corrected t. Oh yeah, I also forgot to pack a towel so I used my helmet bag to put all my stuff on. I could tell this was going to be a race of issues. Found Craig and Jen and we walked over to the swim start.
