Pre-race routine:

Drove to venue - it was beyond early in the am! cannot eat that early. Had some Milk Duds (yes, the King of pre-race nutrition!)
Event warmup:

none

Comments:

First time at this race. First time at this distance. Did not taper. Actually after the standard 'don't want to do this!' that occurs in the first mile or two in any race - overall -I did well. I felt fine. No 'kick' at the end, but no 'bonk' either. Faster than I expected - 30 seconds a mile slower than I privately hoped for.
What would you do differently?:

Next year, I'll focus a bit more on this race and run some longer road distances prior.
Post race
Warm down:

walking around - chatting with friends - things were getting stiff fast - stretching, breakfast, jacuzzi.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of specific training

Event comments:

Very well run race. It was a lot of fun. My friends got PR's the Trigirls were set up at mile 7 to cheer us on - what more could anyone ask for?
