  • Comments: A favorite race and a Tucson tradition. Morning on the Saguaro Park loop just can't be beat. I kinda' wish there was some sports drink sponsor this year. XOOD has been there the past couple. And, perhaps it's time for them to add real chip timing, as it took me 8 sec or so to get to the starting line that was counted in my time. With a full field of 1200 runners this year, the 1st mile was pretty crowded.

  • Comments: I wasn't planning to do this race until about 24 hours prior to the start, and considering that I haven't run much lately, and have only ever run this distance once before, I'm not too upset with how I did. The fact that I'm not very sore right now probably means that I could have pushed myself harder, but considering my issues with the heat, I'm happy just to have pulled through and finished. I love Saguaro Nat'l Park, and this race was a lot of fun. It's beautiful and a challenging-yet-fun course. The volunteers were great and a special thanks goes out to the unnamed park ranger who looked out for me at the mile 4 water station.

  • Comments: A Tucson tradition for 41 years and a magnificent course. 900 runners out there today, with about 250 of them doing the 5K distance. Great use of the Saguaro National Park. Parking is somewhat limited- so the streets are lined for a mile or two. Come early for a close spot. Other than that - it's a pretty casual event. Inexpensive ($30). The tech t-shirt wasn't anything special this year.

  • Comments: Very well run race. It was a lot of fun. My friends got PR's the Trigirls were set up at mile 7 to cheer us on - what more could anyone ask for?
