  • Comments: Because there was no warm-down I immediately went to the Beer line which was quite long. For whatever reason I skipped the salmon chowder from McCormick and Schick’s. I went with the Guinness Stout which was a fair choice. There was an Irish band on the main stage that played two Drop Kick Murphy songs that I recognized. People were everywhere. While I was making my way thru the beer line there were 10,000 runners on the 5K course. I waited for Marcia, Peggy and Lisa at the designated place. The ladies were too wet and cold to want to do much so we went back to my office changed closed then went out to breakfast. All the big west-side breakfast hot spots were full. Looking back my only issue was my knee being injured. The weather is what I would expect for a March race.

  • Comments: One thing that would've made the race more fun, would be more cheering and music stations along the course. There was a big straight away in the middle of the 8k that got a little boring and quiet. But the Shamrockers and other race participants kept the energy fun most of the way through. The worst part of the whole race was packet pick up the day before. There's so many people and big lines. Also, they ran out of bibs, so I had a 15k bib. The morning of the race I had to find the regestration tent to ask about it, but she told me the story of running out of bibs. It would've been nice if that was better communicated. But all in all, it was a really well-organized, super-fun race!

  • Comments: I have no idea how any event is able to deal with over 16,000 athletes and multiple runs going on within an hour of each other, but they did it! Plenty of porta-potties, well marked course, great live music, lots of free water after the event, smooth bag check, etc., etc. The only downside was trying to get anywhere fast due to the large amount of people, and the lines for food/beer afterwards were way too long. I would definitely do this event again!

  • Comments: Small finish venue for food and drink, trying to support 10,500+ makes things a little chaotic. We chose to hit the road. Clam chowder didn't sound as good as a beer, but coffee sounded better.
