  • Comments: This race has the potential to be great. Unfortunately, there are some things that need to be addressed. Before I get into the negative, here is what I liked about the race: *Fair, fast course. It is good for anyone looking for a PR, and the bike/run routes are safe and well-manned. *Plenty of post-race food. So much so that even the spectators were welcomed to enjoy once all the racers had the opportunity to go through the line. *Transition was a bit more spread out than 2009 (which was a complaint I had last year). *Well-stocked aid stations. Last year both run aid stations were out of water when I arrived. This year, everything seemed to be under control. *Volunteers on the bike and run course - they even had volunteers at the side streets to make sure racers did not go off course. CONS: *Swim seeding needs to be better. Swimmers should have to have a certified time or something more effective than a "guess". Too much traffic in the pool and inconsiderate swimmers

  • Comments: * I like the course for the bike and the run. It is safe and well manned by police and volunteers. * The food and activities post race are great. * I like that they had more room in transition this year...last year we were packed in tight. *This could be a really good race if they could change the way people are seeded in the swim. There needs to be a process to certify the swim times so you do not have people submit times that are nowhere near their ability level. You could have individuals who have participated in the race before use the time recorded the previous year and then others would have to come in and have their time certified by swimming the distance before the race. Yes, this would take some more time and effort before the race, but it would be fair and you would have less traffic jams in the pool. *The timing chips had plenty of issues this year. *One of the head event personnel was rude to athletes who were trying to figure out the results that were posted

  • Comments: I HAD A BLAST! The pool swim was a first for me and was interesting to accomplish. I am very proud of my progress in the water and have to take my slow splits and move forward for now. The bike was incredible. I am so happy with that bike ride. Run wasn't on goal BUT I used up a ton of mental toughness points to get what I did. It helped knowing Betsy, Justin, Craig and others were toughing it out in the blazing heat at BSLT today. It pushed me to keep moving and not give up. NO WALKING even in the water stations was huge. I wanted to walk the entire run. RD did a great job in my mind. The awards start seemed to be awhile to get going but they had decided to wait for the last runner to get started. (we left before they began). The bike raffle did not require us to be present which allowed us to take the tired children home. They had me and plenty of others in the wrong AG on the early timing list; but this was quickly corrected (it scares you to not see your time in your
