  • Comments: Overall good race. Aide stations a little far apart and one of them had a ton of bee's in everything. Yes, I know you are in the middle of the forest. Overall good race. Will be back next year (well this year)

  • Comments: Good, low key trail race. This race is not a big production, and for parts of the race you'll be alone in the woods. However, the trails are very well marked, and there are lotd of aid stations I think longest distance between stations was close to 4-miles, but most were two to three miles apart. Roots are a real issue on this course. I didn't fall, but I did see a couple people take some nasty spills. All in all, this is a good race for someone looking for an intro into ultras or trail runs.

  • Comments: Very fun race. Everyone was very laid back and it felt like a big party as opposed to s serious race. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to do this again next year.

  • Comments: So remember ladies and gentlmen...when you are out doing you last minute holiday shopping, and the clerk says paper, or plastic...do your civic duty to help bring down the evil opression brought on by the trees and ask for paper! (just kidding, recycle or you will go to hell...can you tell I have WAY TOO much time to just sit here!) HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL! and HAPPY TRAINING!

  • Comments: Overall, this race was top-notch, a definite must do! I have never had so much fun in my life, it was a blast from packet pick-up to hobbling to the car. Going with others helped though and it was great meeting people at the banquet and during the run. Everyone was so nice from the top runners, to the BOP walkers, to the volunteers. Race packets, dinner, breakfest (which I did not partake in, but had lots of stuff), post race food, and aid stations were awesome. The 50k race has an 11.5 hr time limit so lots of people came to walk it, even a 31 mile hike is impressive to me. So you saw all shapes and sizes out there which was great to see. Awards were unique...solid bronze Stallions that you got to pick which one you wanted and then they gave you the nameplate to put on it. Finisher's awards you had the choice of a Tyvek jacket or a blanket. Man, I could go on and on and I know I'm forgetting so much, but oh so much fun!!!

  • Comments: I can't say enough about Sunmart. It was the best race, hands down that I have done. The setting is perfect, a State Park. My family and I stayed in our travel trailer less than 1/2 mile walk to the start/finish line. The only thing that is hard, is that the packet pickup is on Friday in Houston (about a 50 mile drive from Huntsville). This was not convenient if you stay at the park or are driving in from the north. But this is small compared to the organization of this race. It is very well done and I plan on being back to do it again. One comment about Aaron (JeepFleeb) - I had a hard enough time navigating through the woods without falling on the stumps, rocks and dodging trees - while Aaron was running faster and carried the flag through all of that. Impressive!
