  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: Race seemed to be a little better organized this year than last year in overall terms. There was quite a bit of misunderstanding on the run loops for turning around at the first barrel. Volunteers or someone should have been well versed on providing instructions to runners on what they should do.

  • Comments: Id like to see the run course changed and maybe they could do something about the moss. When it's thick enough to be a factor, something should be done about it.

  • Comments: Typical well organized no frills Ironhead race. Had one small issue because volunteer had given me wrong chip at chip table. Timing guy figured out they gave me 464 instead of 484 because of times I had on my Garmin so all was resolved quickly. Note to self: check number on chip they give you next time. Amazing that the top 3 50 year old's beat all the 40+ age groupers.

  • Comments: Sprint competitors had to leave early to beat window and get out of parking lot before 1/2 IM competitors bikers came back into park.

  • Comments: I like Ironhead races...more about the sport than all the fluff. The race was delayed a little because of the weather and trying to get everyone in and parked safely. I was really irked that the race was not going to be postponed...but then once the race got started I had the best time. I certainly didn't set any PR times but I had a lot of fun.

  • Comments: This could have been a more enjoyable race had the weather been more cooperative. I had a friend doing the Half Iron distance but I didn't feel like waiting another 3 hours for him to finish. I checked the results and found out that I had medaled in my AG, sweet!!! Jack said he will mail the awards to the winners.

  • Comments: Gotta shout out to the volunteers. There were tons of them, including a freakin' armada of kayaks and other boats. The weather was downright nasty, and these folks, along with Grand Prairie's finest, stood or floated in that rain for hours. They were awesome. Jack owes them all a shirt or something. The events were slightly late in starting, but that was due to the weather. No worries, there. Jack even did a great job getting us short course folks out of the park during the bike of the HIM, even though he had to reroute them onto the same road due to flooding elsewhere. On another note, I tried the bucket method of carrying gear. I knew the backpack would be soaked so I packed a couple garbage bags, one for the transition gear and the other to cover the bucket. Guess which one worked better? Not the one on the ground. In fact, today, there was no need/use for a towel. Ironic isn't it.

  • Comments: Start of race was pushed back a little, but really it was too dark to safely start on time. Race was run well, especially given the circumstances. Post race activities definitely suffered because of the rain.

  • Comments: Good race. Militant Jack runs a good race, If they created a little better atmosphere, more people would do his events. Maybe they all sell out anyway, I'm just sayin...
