  • Comments: This was an amazing race set up. Perfect from start to finish with absolutely no issues at all. I would recomend this to anyone. Also from my wifes point of view, she had a great time, good food, stands for the spectators with tons of shade, music and nice people. This race went off without a hitch.

  • Comments: Excellent, well-organized, well-executed, and non-pretentious race. Was great to be out there alongside the full IM racers, though I'm glad I wasn't doing the full IM. (Don't know if I could mentally handle 4 loop bike and 4 loop run courses.) Police and volunteers at every intersection and business driveway on the route, so I felt very safe. Covered bleachers for the spectators at the finishing line was a nice consideration. Expo was pittance compared to IM-branded events, but that was fine with me - the RedMan gear they had was nice, and I'd rather have an affordable race than the branded one. Temporary tatoos for body marking was very cool. Finisher shirts were nice. Food and drinks afterwards included a nice variety of snacks (pretzals, cookies, candy, granola bars, peanuts), fuits (oranges, grapes), PB&J sandwiches, and drinks (water, Gatorade, various sodas, chocolate milk, EAS MyoPlex).

  • Comments: Great overall race. I would really recommend it to somebody looking for a half iron distance race late in the season. If your looking for a full though I'm not sure about it. The full had to do 4 loops on both the bike and run. But I had a great time.

  • Comments: My race time goal was to try and break 6 hours. I went 6:11 in New Orleans. After the bike and swim went good, I thought I had an outside shot at my secret goal of 5:45. I never even looked at the race clock when I finished. Jennifer had timed me on her watch and showed it to me later. I had no idea I had surpassed all my dreams. I had finished in 5:36. I figured I was around high 5:40s.

  • Comments: coming out of the race as the USAT Long Course National Champion for Clydesdale's was what I was hoping for the last month heading up to the race. Being able to accomplish this made me feel great! I just wish that WTC had Tri Slots for Clearwater and KONA cause I KNOW THAT WOULD BE MY NEXT GOAL!

  • Comments: The best organized and conducted race I ever attended. Given the conditions people of Redman and Oklahoma City showed amazing determination, support and skill in putting this first class event. Not enough words can describe how grateful I am for all the work volunteers did. Sweeping mud and water off the roads, being wet with us all day....... This race is worth every bit of it and more.

  • Comments: Thanks to all the volunteers, you guys were so awesome! And a BIG, HUGE thanks to The Bicycle Store in OKC for getting me on a bike with VERY short notice. You rule!!! Postscript: Today i got a call from sports express that my bike arrived in OKC. Great. Only 4 days late!!! Well, at least they found it!

  • Comments: The volunteers really made this race a stellar event. There were kids on the course cheering us on and I thanked each and every one of the volunteers and kids for being out and for all their hard work. I always make a point to thank the crossing police as well. Overall, I think that RedMan put on a terrific race. I was part of the Halfmax Championship and I think I may have even made a spot on Team USA for Worlds in Germany 2010. :)

  • Comments: The race volunteers were AWESOME. I don't know if I'd show up if I was a volunteer and it was pouring rain. I did my best to thank every volunteer I could, especially on that bike course. Some of the best volunteers ever. The race is well organized, though I think they could've done better with the packet pick up portion. That didn't happen till 1400 (2PM)the day prior to the race--that's way too late, and they didn't have enough people staffing it, so there were long lines. I also prefer to get my timing chip in my race packet so I don't have to stand in line for it on race morning. I do hope they never ever consider swim/run/swim as it's a recipe for disaster. I'm thrilled it didn't end up that way, especially as I enjoy the bike so much. It was AWESOME to meet so many BT'ers. I got to stay with Celeste (CitySky), have pre-race lunch the day prior with Chad and Erin (and hang out in the cold, wet rain pre-race), got to meet mr2Tony, Wavedog, TriOK, Lisac, and Irondreams. • Comments: Too many people for the venue.....parking sucked.......I really felt bad for the guys doing the full as the folks leaving the race site after the half were walking on the sidewalk that was their run course.....some folks were oblivious!!! The folks doing the full could not possibly have been getting the full attention of the race staff or the crowd with all the commotion of the half folks leaving with their bike and gear and such.....reminds me to be VERY careful of doing a race with multiple lengths at the same time.....

  • Comments: This race was very well run, especially with all the issues with the weather. Plenty of volunteers and water stations. Some of the roads on the bike sucked, but nothing the race organizers can do about that.I can't compare it to other long distance races, but I certainly enjoyed it.

  • Comments: The race director had a tough decision to make this year with the crazy amounts of rain the morning of the race. Thankfully we got to do the entire triathlon and it ended up working out well - even with a mandatory dismount on the bike through a flooded section. The volunteers and law enforcement on the bike course are amazing at this race! Great venue and organization.

  • Comments: 1) The race was delayed because of the rain. This had nothing to do with the organization. Once they announced a new time, they began promptly on that time. 2) The volunteers were awesome. There were a ton of them and most of them were shouting words of encouragement. I saw one shoveling mud off the bike course. A few others were sweeping water into the draining systems. The volunteers is what makes this race. This was a great race to experience my first half-iron distance. I would definately like doing this again. Maybe the full next........

  • Comments: Loved this experience. I wish I could have met more BT'ers, but that's OK because the ones I did get to meet were awesome. I want to do this again- next year I might try the full aquabike. I still want to be an Ironman before 2012, so I've got some time. The people of Oklahoma are freaking awesome folks. I've seriously never met someone from TX, OK, KS, NE, or the Dakota's that I didn't like. Great time, great race, I want to come back again.

  • Comments: My first 1/2 iron. I chose this race because of the course-flat and location, and time of year. I think the organizers did a great job considering the weather. Honestly I'd have to say I think the weather helped me. Had it been sunny and warm I'm sure I would have had more trouble on the run than I already did. Overall though a great event. If I ever do this distance again (genetics/muscle fiber type have condemned me to sprints), I'd run much longer distances in training. I now have even more respect for those who do a full iron!

  • Comments: This race is one of, if not the most well-organized race I've done. I had high expectations based on what I'd heard of the race and I was not disappointed. Good race swag, a nice, safe course, lots of police and volunteers out there, plenty of aid stations, and very good pre-race communication. The only complaint would be that the race venue is not very good if the weather is bad (it was basically a glorified mud pit by the end) but this is no fault of the RD's! I really enjoyed the race overall and had a great time!

  • Comments: Other than my buddy beating me by 28 min, I met all my other goals: 1. Finish 2. Not finish last 3. Finish under 6:30 Despite my overall misery on the run, I do not have enough good things to say about this race. Some were not in anyone's control such as weather, water temp, etc, but as far as volunteers and overall organization of the race, it was fantastic.

  • Comments: Overall, the race people did a great job and this race definately lived up to what people have said about it. Its a small, well-run half/full. The course was great for a first half as well. I felt i did great in this race and a full now seems within my grasp... now just to figure out when it can fit in my schedule haha. Maybe spring 2010.
