  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: I really like this race. It was super easy on a perfectly calm day. Couldn't ask for better conditions! As stated above, I did not train for this but I somehow PR'ed by over 15 minutes on it. With that, there's a chance I'll get a world slot for next year. Even though I'd go from top 10-20% to last 10%, I'll take it if it comes my way but I will train my ass off and not take such a thing so lightly. That said, I'm ready for the season to be over. This race was a "ehh...what the hell" type of last minute thing. I had planned to end it last week but I figured why not do one last race since I paid for and skipped IMWI. Super happy with the results and hope I can get a spot for next year (worlds is hosted there). Going to take a weekish off and then go into maintenance mode and actually create and follow a plan for next year.

  • Comments: I can not imagine a race being better organized or supported any better! Yes there might be pretty places to race in but as far as the volunteers, aid stations, support, etc... It was first class all the way

  • Comments: I have to say, the volunteers at this race are absolutely the best I have ever encountered in a race. Hands down! Everyone was great and supportive. Seriously, these people deserve a lot of credit for what they did all day.

  • Comments: Redman is a great race with wonderful volunteers. However, the Oklahoma weather is just too unpredictable in regards to heat that I will probably not do this race again, unless it's an Aquabike. Will pick a climate where I know the run will be in cool weather. I like the cold. I don't mind a cold swim and chilly bike. I absolutely love a cold run.

  • Comments: Top notch race with outstandingly enthusiastic volunteers. Bike course roads are dangerous at points, more so than I ever remember. That might keep me from coming back, but the rest is superb. From excellent goodie bags, to helpful bike techs, to vegetarian offerings post-race - it doesn't get much better than Redman.

  • Comments: Very well run race. Pavement absolutely sucked. Walk from parking was very long. Volunteers were fantastic. Although I was really disappointed in not getting under 5:00 I was surprised to see I had finished 4th in AG. Some consolation.

  • Comments: The volunteers at Redman are second to none. I could not have been more pleased with how well stocked the aid stations were, how well manned the intersections were, or how enthusiastic and helpful the volunteers were. I will definitely be doing this race again!

  • Comments: This was the best hosted race I have ever seen. They had kid games and mini duathlon for them. great seating and even gave our support staff drinks and snacks. Lots of aid stations. and I saw a few volunteers sprint down runners to give them water if too many people came through. That is amazing. Our team is making this a every year event. Thank you Redman staff and Volunteers.

  • Comments: All in all a very successful race, sub 5 hour goal met, brief delusions of grandeur about going sub 4:50 before getting slapped in the legs with the reality cramps. Race erganization was very good, as mentioned above the swim course marking left a lot to be desired but at least we were swimming, i wasn't interested in doing a half-iron du. On a much more somber but strangly wierd note, a fella from Olathe (5 miles away) that had the same name as me and nearly same age drown over the weekend (completely unrelated to triathlon, as far as I know) which made the local news Sunday night. Most everyone at work knew I was racing on Saturday, having been out of the office on Friday. With all due respect for the deceased and his family, it's been almost comical how many times I've had to explain today that I am in fact still alive.

  • Comments: well supported. great volunteers, plenty of water and ice, very vocal support along the routes, enough massage tables. not as big as an Ironman-branded event but managed as well, i think. i appreciate being able to get "water, no top" so i didn't have to stop.

  • Comments: Overall a very nice race. They did a very good job of putting it on. The parking situation (and lack of shuttles) was less than desireable, but otherwise a solid event. Some of the nicest volunteers ever. I might go back and do this race someday. Who knows.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race and felt it was a good course. The best thing was the amount of support on the course from the volunteers, both mentally and physically. I also appreciated the effort put into the food/drink available at the finish -- to me, that's where you are hurting and where you really want shade and a good selection. I even saw plenty of race help asking athletes at both finish/massage, etc. what they could bring over to them. Now that's service. The covered bleachers for spectators are a great touch. One thing I think can use improvement is the pre-race meeting. It was in a hot tent (bring in fans!) and correct information wasn't really available. For example, the presenter said you can't accept help from impartial official race volunteers or you would be disqualified from awards which isn't true. They did correct that race morning, but still that should be available at race meeting. A lot of thought obviously went into this race and it shows. I would definitely

  • Comments: Enjoyed venue, well organized yet felt like a relaxed environment. something for everyone: aquabike, half, full distance and relays. Pre-race packet race number tattoos were great; sped up entry in transition. Plenty of post race food, nice tech finishers shirt and medal. Would return again. Stayed to watch a friend finish her first IM. The last athlete crossed finish after 3am; very nice of them to allow the participant to finish. Award ceremonies at Marriott was inspiring.

  • Comments: While I'm not unhappy with my time, I hoped to be around 5:30. I want to try another 70.3 race and put a dent in that time. I now know what to expect. As for the race itself, it was run very well. Its a great venue for the race. Spectator friendly and flat. I'm not sure about making Redman my first 140.6 race (given the four loops on both the bike and the run).
