  • Comments: I still think the Dallas Marathon was better but this wasn't bad. Swag was not the best considering how expensive the race was (Hot Chocolate swag was better).

  • Comments: You read so many horror stories about R&R races, and I was expecting the worst. But, it was a really great, very well organized event. They handled the transit to the start very well. Parking was easy and the control at the start made for a nice uncrowded race. Lots of police. Aid stations were good. Only complaint is that not all aid stations had Gatorade. I missed filling up once because I went past the water thinking the Gatorade was after but then there was nothing. It is pricey, and the swag was just OK. But I would consider doing it again.

  • Comments: It's really a well organized event - instructions, shuttle, gear check, corrals, support, etc. My only issue is the relatively steep price for a half marathon. I'd do it again but need to register early enough to get a lower price.

  • Comments: This was a well run show. I thought being shuttled from Fair Park over to downtown Dallas would be a nightmare (most of the time shuttle situations are). But it wasn't! That was nice! Plenty of aid stations and volunteers. Easy to walk around after the race (it wasn't after Cowtown). The course was fine. Pretty cool running downtown Dallas on roads I have only driven on. With all of that said, I don't get why this race is so much money. Sure, there are bands, but there weren't anymore bands than what Cowtown had. Paying $100-$150 for a half marathon is ridiculous. Luckily I got some discounts and paid $80 back in December. While it was a nice race, I didn't see anything that made it that much more "WOW" than say, the Cowtown or Dallas Marathon (even both of those races gave "finisher" t-shirts). Would I do it again? Sure. But I wouldn't pay full price. No way. Nice race, but not worth $100-$150.

  • Comments: Didn't like the start location being separate from the finish. Added about 30 minutes to morning routine to park and take shuttle to start. Otherwise, good course, well-organized and lots of volunteers.

  • Comments: Took awhile to get out of Fair Park and onto I-30. Bands, cheerleaders and spectators where fun.

  • Comments: I think this was a good race and I would do it again. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't give out those mylar blankets at the finish as it was very cold and could've used them. Unlike the White Rock Half-Marathon, the post-race food and refreshments were outdoor and it was very cold. I did like the bands that kept me entertained (probably could've used more bands as some sections were eerily quiet). Lots of turnout along the way which was nice. It was also nice to have beaten Dallas Cowboy great Troy Aikman at something (he ran a 1:48:11)!

  • Comments: My first half marathon. My Garmin read 13.46. Maybe it is off or I did some extra zig zagging to get through the crowds.

  • Comments: I was on corral 10 and it took almost 30 minutes for us to get to the start line. I felt a little sorry for those at the back of Corral 13, as they probably lost 45 minutes of the four hours just waiting to start. There were not enough aid stations out there, and only one at mile 9 had any nutrition. Frankly, the bands weren't that great and it seemed that there were not very many of them.

  • Comments: Originally I balked at the price and I was a little nervous with this being the inaugraul race but it was worth it. Lots of water stations, tons of race support/volunteers plenty of post race food/drinks and nice goodie bag/freebies at expo. I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed myself. I want to do this race again next year, PR of course :)

  • Comments: I would have to say that there only seemed to be water stations every two-three miles. It would be nice to have them every mile. Also, there was only nutrition at mile 9. I brought three Gu's with me, but would have been nice to just grab them on the course. Other than that, the race was great. The course is nice having the uphill at the first half, sets you up nice to negative split. Great race for the 1st year... Oh, would be great to have a full Mary as well....
