  • Comments: Good short course race that brings out a lot of fast upstate triathletes. Could use a few more portapoties. The body marking line was really long like most setup event races nowadays because they only had 2 people marking (bring your own sharpie if you know how to mark). Award ceremony seemed to be really late into the morning, kicking off around 10 with a race start time of 7 and the majority of people finishing around the 1 hour mark. The DJ for this event is the best in the world and should be used for all setup event races in the upstate! Bike leg only measure 8.4 miles by GPS not the advertised 9 miles.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: Not giving break between open swimmers and age group caused us to catch thr slow opens and really slowed us down. Getting checked in and chip and body marking done was horrible as they only had one person doing each. Awards were very late and you had most people just standing around for an hour plus. the only thing that made it bearable was the dj!

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: Good race and I liked the flat run course on the swamp rabbit and I thought the triple loop bike course was a really fun thing to do for a sprint race. I did not like that there was no way to verify that anyone actually did all three loops or that runners actually made it to the turn around point for the run before turning around. I also didn't like that the bike course was set up in such a way that did not allow for passing for such a long portion of the course coming in and out of transition. Not sure I would do the race again based on the lack of verification that everyone did the course correctly and allowing/requiring riders to block others.

  • Comments: I will be back but they had several major flaws during the race. 1st was the swim seeding but that has been covered above. Next is bathroom availability for 300+ people there was 1 stall and 1 urinal in the mens room and 2 stalls in the womens restroom, lines were too long and the bathrooms overflowed shutting down the bathrooms and forcing people into the Y. They should have had portapotties or just open the Y from the start. Next the volunteers were either not helpful or not in the right spot, nobody was manning the mount/dismount line out of T1 until malone of malone coaching saw a need and jumped in. The police were great and did a great job controlling the road and keeping it shut down from traffic. There were many volunteers just standing around the finish line with no clue what was going on and no real explanation of their purpose. Last, the MC was probably the best ever at the finish line.

  • Comments: A good race. I hate pool swims, and the lanes in this pool were especially narrow, but still the race was very nicely done. The bike course was fun and a bit technical, and the run course was really nice.
