  • Comments: White Lake has always been an awesome race site! I have done this race a few times in the past. Since it was my first Half Iron distance, it will always have a special place in my heart. The lake is beautiful and it is well organized. There was plenty of post race snacks and food, including pizza. Hope to do it again!

  • Comments: Nice fast course with a beautiful venue. Roads were rough in places on the bike. The training I did paid off. I felt I did really well for my first triathlon ever.

  • Comments: don't really have anything to compare it to other than 5ks and 10ks that i've done, but i felt like it was very well organized. the volunteers were extremely friendly and helpful. the lady that did my body marking even gave me a pep talk when she found out it was my first race. overall i was very satisfied with the location and the event. i learned soooo much that will help me next time

  • Comments: Took a minute or so off of last years time, pretty happy considering that I was probably still a little tired from the half the previous weekend. Love these two weekends, fun working and racing.

  • Comments: The race itself is fantastic; I would recommend it to anyone, especially beginners. I'm writing this RR in 2010, over five years after the race to help me remember where I started and hopefully down the road not forget how far I've come. After the race the huge challenge open water swimming presented for me kept me away from doing Triathlons. I knew I wanted to come back to the sport “someday” but not until I was properly trained. A little more time passed, my wife and I had two beautiful children, and all of a sudden 4 years had gone by. Once again, it was decision time – let “someday” stay off in the never foreseeable future or get back in the water and overcome my fears. I’m very happy I made the decision to TRI again in 2008 as I’ve found my passion for this sport! Although I’ve yet to overcome my open water swimming fears I know with proper training and the great advice I find at BT I will someday soon.
