  • Comments: We always have a really good time at this event and will be back next year. It is very well run event except for the porta potty situation. The west side of the lake needs at least double the number of porta potties (it's early - people have had a lot of coffee!) Droves of people were headed off into the woods. Because it's early on a Sunday, no wineries are open yet and in general there are less places to stop on that side of the lake. I actually heard one guy offer to pay a homeowner near an exchange to let his team use the bathroom. It becomes less of an issue on the east side of the lake because it is later in the day so the wineries are open and there are other places like Walmart in Watkins and McDonalds in Ovid to stop.

  • Comments: My team all had a great time at this event again this year. Some aspects are very well run (check-in, wave start for example worked very well). However, if they do not do something to remedy the porta-potty situation, they are going to find themselves with no places left to have the exchanges. They need many more porta-potties than they had and if you are advertising that the bathrooms in Clute Park are going to be open, someone needs to confirm that they are (they were last year, but not this year). The legs are short enough that there really isn't time to go looking for an alternate facility (convenience store or something) unless you know exactly where you are going. The one other thing that needs attention is the course markings/maps. With such a nice book with maps, there's no reason there couldn't be inset pictures of confusing areas. The turn as runners come into Watkins should be better marked (cone with a sign/balloon if it's impossible to get a volunteer with a flag into

  • Comments: This event was SO much fun. It seemed well organized for the most part. They could've used a few more porta-potties and a few more course markings, but for a first time event it seemed well run. We knew ahead of time they we needed to be self-sufficient in terms of food/drink. Water and Heed were provided at some of the stops. I can't comment on the other legs since I didn't run them, but my teammates seemed to have as much fun as I did. We were happy to be just ahead of the middle of the pack.
