  • Comments: This is just one of the most scenic, best run races around, with really excellent food. I've concluded though that with its long hard climb at the front end of the bike, it's one of the hardest to pace correctly. Maybe part of the reason I do relatively well on the bike (I did do better, time-wise, than HALF of the women, all younger than me) is that I have learned to at least try to limit the matches I burn on that segment; although I don't have it down to my satisfaction I can't say that the second half of my ride suffered. Others may go too gung-ho up that first hill and lose out later in their ride.

  • Comments: This has to be one of the most lovely triathlons anywhere, with the swim in scenic Cayuga Lake & the bike along its side, and the trail run by the creek up to glorious Taughannock Falls. It's also an unusual race in that, except for the timers, it is run entirely by local volunteers, a warm and spirited bunch over 200 strong. So many businesses & people from the community support the event in other ways, there is just a unique atmosphere here.

  • Comments: This was a fun race, and it's great that it's a family event. I took the race somewhat easy to ensure I could enjoy the experience, but I was still a bit disappointed with my times. At least my overall time was under 3 hours.

  • Comments: I would rather have been racing Mike and Ken for this race. They do a great job with everything but lunch. It bagels and fruit. can't have everything. To tell you the truth I don't really like the oly distance to me you might as well go for a half.

  • Comments: this really is a great race. would like to see better post race protein options for eating. the ice cream was great, but peanut butter just doesn't cut it. would love pizza actually or chicken sandwiches or something, but that's my preference.

  • Comments: VERY well organized with plenty of volunteers who were really able to help pre-race. Plenty of on-course and post-race support (medical - bandaids, ice). GREAT course - very scenic; challenging but not crushing. Really friendly racers in a deliberately small (300) field. Definitely a do-again race.

  • Comments: This really is the best race ever. I'm thinking of doing the Sprint again next year though so maybe I can actually smile at the end of it again. I'm guessing come December though, I'll have forgotten enough to sign up for the Long again.

  • Comments: This is a great venue. Run is almost entirely in the shade and you run to the base of a tall waterfall...very scenic. Not crazy about having to do two loops but it is what it is. Bike is challenging but fun with some of the down hills. Coordination by Jane Miller is outstanding. This was my second time doing this race and I will do it again. For all the compalining about my performance, I had a great time at this race.

  • Comments: Very well run race. Considering the weather and a lot of people showing up late, everything still got started on time. Transition area was well run. Give aways were nice (long sleeve tech tee and a pint glass). Course was in good condition for what was within their control. Great work by the race crew, volunteers and law enforcement! Recommend this race to anyone who wants a challenging bike.

  • Comments: I should have tri card suspended for a month or so. I really did poor on the bike with no one to blame but me. I'll get over it, I'm sure Jackie will kick it out of me doing the Ride for Ind 62.5. milers. I guess its a call for next year coming back and kicking this. Off to start the road to Chesapeake Man. 140.6. Guess a little wake up call is good for the soul.
