  • Comments: This race was great, good venue and well run. full disclosure, I grew up in the area. the bike course ran through my home town and I spent a lot of time in old orchard as a kid, having said that it was still a very good race. the swim was fast, and the water not as cold as I thought it would be. I had a little trouble sighting the boueys because of the swells, foggy goggles and flailing arms. after the second turn the current that made it a fast swim started pushing me to the right. But overall a good swim. the bike was flat and fast, road conditions were good and there were several aid stations with plenty of nutrition (gels, Gatorade, bananas, power bars). and there was a little extra aroma around mile 54, as in a dead skunk in the road, it wouldn't be Maine without a little road kill. a little ranting about bike legs in general, if your going to pass, don't pass and THEN slow down and immediately jam up the person you just passed. The run started out OK despite stomach cramps around

  • Comments: Great race overall, with PRs on the swim and bike. The run was tough in the heat, but slow and steady got me to the finish line. Thank You, God, for giving me the strength to compete!

  • Comments: Top notch event put on by the rev3 folks! Positives: - TONS of happy volunteers - Great "vibe" to the race ... lots of first timers and people out there to have fun. - Beautiful and FAST course Negatives - No official race parking... you have to park on-street and feed the meter (not likely), or pay ~$15/day in a local lot. - While the post race food was delicious, they quickly ran out of everything that wasn't meat-oriented ... so by the time my wife finished the Half there was only chicken tacos or pork tacos left. While they were both delicious, it wasn't really the post race food she was looking for (bagel, rice/beans, pretzels, etc.).

  • Comments: Really enjoyed the course and the day. (in spite of the crash) I did the Oly at this location last year and really like the additional challenge of the 1/2 distance. It was really great to race with several other KBTC club members and to see so many of them volunteering at the aid stations and in transition!

  • Comments: This is my second Rev3 event and they do a good job with it. The race got started a touch late but that wasn't a big deal. Little confusion about porta potties at the swim start but no biggie there either. Just a couple minor things that they handled well I thought. Will absolutely do another Rev3 event.

  • Comments: Need more porta potties on the bike. Almost had to stop between mile 20 and mile 35 Nothing around.

  • Comments: Final thoughts: Holy cow. Where did that run come from?!?! First, I’m glad the time wasn’t 6:00:XX. For real. I’d be beating myself up thinking about where I could have found those few seconds. I know I didn’t leave two full minutes out there anywhere. I’m completely certain of that. Second, this time is a TWENTY MINUTE PR. 20 minutes faster!!! I took 17 minutes off of my bike time from Austin last October. I dropped 5 minutes from my run time. My swim was a touch slower, but with course measurements and conditions, it’s generally not a completely accurate number. Third, training for this distance can be overwhelming at times, but racing it is SO fun!

  • Comments: Even with the timing chip issues I experienced, I'd definitely do this race again if I were looking to travel to Maine again. Looking forward to my next Rev3 event in Williamsburg next year!

  • Comments: I loved this race. Rev3 did a great job and the volunteers were terrific. You could tell they were really excited to have an event like this in their hometown. The post race food was not so great but I never really eat that much after a race anyway.
