  • Comments: This is race is perfect. Well run, great swag, and awesome post race food/drink. Puts Lonestar Olympic to shame !! (hate to be rude but only getting a shirt, handing out warm water at finish line, serving Sam's Cola just make me appreciate this gem of a race even more)

  • Comments: This was a really nice event. One unique feature that appeals to me is the age group Clydes and Athenas classes that they offer. Not only do you compete with big guys, you compete with old, big guys! This feature enabled me to get to the podium way sooner than I have a right to expect to. Thanks!!!

  • Comments: There were too many people at the start of the swim. It was only one age group, but I wonder if they could move the start further away from shore to reduce crowding. Other than that I had an excellent race and am very pleased with how well I did.

  • Comments: After the race we walked around talking to friends we found - Angie, Stuart, Ike and Frank. We also found Pam. She was absolutely glowing, radiating with pride and gave me a huge hug telling me how much fun she had. I am so excited she made it through and enjoyed it. I hope our paths cross again some time. I just wish I had found Daniel to thank him, he has no idea what that small gesture on the run course meant to me. Great race, great people, I will do this one again! However, this year it was the same weekend as the Vancouver marathon, so I hope that's not the case next year.

  • Comments: Jockstrapping points to Luke who drove all over The woodlands trying to find me when I flatted and then was not mad when I had made it to transition and started the run while he was out looking for me! (I did call him to tell him that I was running so that he was not worried.) Also, I found out after the race that I could have waited and someone would have picked me up and taken me back to transition where they could have repaired my flat and sent me back out on my way. I am pretty glad I just walked back- I think in the end that was faster eventhough it gave me my first DNF. Race review- 5ooM swim; 6 mile ride; 1.25 mile Hike-a-bike; 5K run= Total time ~1:45 I think.

  • Comments: This was a nice, relatively laid-back race. I generally had a good time, except for my poor swim performance. The volunteers were numerous and great motivators...there seemed to be someone every few feet on the run which was nice.

  • Comments: I had a good time. I still am thinking "What in the name of God, am I thinking" but I am VERY proud of my accomplishment and performance. As Cesar said, I woke up this morning a women, but I'm going to bed tonight a Triathlete! He's proud of me. Alyssa even said "Mama, Congraulations on being a triathlete" as I tucked her into bed. Thomas said he's going to write about it in his journal at school Monday! It's been a good day!

  • Comments: This race was very organized. Will definately do this one again. I was amazed at how many people never completed the race, 180 out of 850. I feel much better knowing that I simply completed the race!

  • Comments: The long walk was a pain because it was so muddy, but they can't control the weather. Also I heard there were some nasty spills at the bike dismount area... some injured folks out there. Mayb more volunteer letting us know the end is near... it did kind of sneak up on us because it was right after a turn.

  • Comments: This race would have been AMAZING if not for the rain. The swim had a path of rubber mats up from the boat ramp to transition. The entire transition area was tarped so as to not have muddy feet, huge signs for bike in/out and run in/out. Great run in the shade and great finish line. This was the most organized Tri I had ever seen...too bad the swim and bike had to be canceled. I will without a doubt be back next year to do this race!
