  • Comments: First year doing this race. Loved it. Kinda partial since my wife works for the hospital that sponsers it. Wish they would've had a scale for Clydesdales at check-in. I was talking to person who won the division and he was worried he would be disqualified if he was weighed because he was "well under" the 220lbs. and signs up for the division to guarantee a good position (he would've won his AG by 4 minutes. Alll-in-all it was a great event that I will do again in the future. Great volunteer support.

  • Comments: Nice small town event with a wonderful bike route, well organized, good turn out. Pool swim instead of an open water venue is the only reason this event gets a 4 instead of a 5.

  • Comments: I felt very good about the results of this, my first, triathlon. Finished 2/12 in my age group; might have been first if I hadn't stopped to give someone my tube kit. Finished in the top 25% overall. I was within seconds of all three target splits with no pacing assistance (GPS watch, bike computer, stop watch, etc), using only "Perceived Effort" to regulate my output. Surprised with how competitive my run time was, especially given my minimal preparation in this discipline (40 miles in 8 weeks). I think that was indicative of a reasonably smart overall race plan that was well executed.
