Comments: I'm torn. Gamultisports does really good races, but this location on this date is just a little too hot for my likeing, and maybe even my ability. Heat takes me out of the game faster than anything else. Move it to the end of september or even october. I might do it again, but not sure. I highly recommend it though. It's a tough course and will really tell you where you are as an athlete. Overall, this is a good race, maybe one that lives in my head a little too much though.

Comments: There was a start delay of about fifteen minutes because the swim course wasn't set up. That surprised me, because the event was really well run other than that. Also, for a geek like me, it was a shame they weren't selling any logo gear (no new HIM hat for me). They did have Henry Forrest there selling T-shirts. He came in 7th in the (first ever) 1978 Ironman. He had an original 78 t-shirt there with him, too. It was screen printed on the back of an old marine corps t-shirt of his. Everyone had to bring their own shirts to be printed. He was really, really nice, and we had a nice long chat about the spirit of the ironman. He even let me fondle the first ever ironman trophy (John made his first because he had to leave a few days after the race). It really put me in the mood of appreciating the opportunity to move my body, and participate in these fun events. This is not an easy race, and it is open to traffic. Comments: I was very impressed with this event. I was expecting a small time operation due to the location in Macon, GA (for those of you from Macon, no offense). I was thoroughly impressed with how professional this event turned out to be. I'd like to do it again next year.

Comments: I think this is a tough course. But the challenge is worth it. I would do this event again. Like to see at least one more stop on the bike course. Otherwise, all was good here. Also, was nice to have my brother and another training partner come down to cheer. Knowing you had a little fan base goes a long way.

Comments: I can't say enough about this race. It was well directed in every aspect! Lots of Volenteers, tons of food, minimal traffic on the course and lots of cops directing traffic. If you want to challenge yourself mentally, physically and in every other way, do this race! Did I mention that I qualified for the Halfmax National Championships? I also PR'd by 4 min. Not bad for a "B" race. Plus I have to start a Zipp fund.
