  • Comments: I give it a 4 due to them eliminating a water station from last year. They used to have one at about 3/4 mile, that way you caught it going out and coming back if you needed it, as well as one at the turn-around. This year they just had the one halfway again. Sorry, if the race starts at 8 and the heat index is getting up near 90o when the first-timers are out on the run you've got to have fluids available to them. Otherwise, they had chip timing this year which was very much appreciated, and the event really is just run pretty well. I wish they would be able to make some changes to the bike course, specifically past the transition area and up by the tennis courts. It's a sidewalk/bike path though so what are you gonna do. This course is pretty spectator friendly [albeit the bike is a toughie] and it's a lot of fun doing the race each year. This is my 3rd year at the event, 2nd as an individual, 1st time without an award of some kind. :(

  • Comments: I think this is a great race and they really do a nice job of getting some very talented atheletes as well as some new triathletes which makes it really fun for everyone. I always will plan to do this race.

  • Comments: I was very pleased with this event! First, I have to mention that it is the 'Mayor's' Tri and he was there for the whole event (did all the announcing also!). Besides the Mayor, it seems like the people of Papillion also endorse this event wholeheartedly. Plently of volunteers, young and old, that seemed to genuinely enjoy supporting this event. Police officers watching the course were even cheering on the racers, that was very encouraging! THANK YOU PAPILLION!

  • Comments: If I would have won I could put my bloody sock in the Papio Tri Hall of Fame, as it is, it will be washed and reused in another attempt to win. Parents and father-in-law were in attendence, nice having them there. Cut on toe is limiting my walking ability post race. Weird how I didn't really notice it during the run. F-I-L got some good video so we watched that after the race. No chip timing is kind of a let down, need to do a better job of hitting my lap button.

  • Comments: This course still needs to be altered to get the bikes off of the narrow 3 ft path. Until new roads are made, I don't think that this will happen. Otherwise, the volunteers, food, organizaion was fantastic!

  • Comments: Did this one last year with the wife and BIL; we took the Co-ed team division. Teams were good this year! Run aid stations were better this year. Might do it again next year though I'd like to try the Cornhusker State Games tri and they seem to be very close together [1 day apart this year]. Might do both next year if they're a week apart. Definitely a great tri to be a beginner at!

  • Comments: This was my first triathlon ever. I kind of enjoyed it, but I won't be doing any longer ones anytime soon. This was a great length for me and proved once again that I really, really need to work on my swimming. Next triathlon I will try to find a flatter bike course. :)
