  • Comments: I signed up for next year...now I know what to expect! ;) was a great race...and my hats off to the race director. great bands, nice quaint neighborhoods to run in...I was a bit disappointed with the goody bags...they had dog treats and some other random thing..but really no energy bars! WHAT UP WITH THAT?...great t shirt though! and I have never in my life seen more volunteers at the water stations and everywhere in between!

  • Comments: The Rock 'n' Roll folks really know how to put on a race. Everything is crazy-well organized, especially considering how big it is. The bands are good, the crowd support is *excellent*, the volunteers are many and friendly and well-trained. No complaints here.

  • Comments: This year the corrals seemed spread out better or maybe I was starting in a better corral based on my ability. I wanted to beat last years time, 1:48:37...So I ran out pretty hard. I was able to keep that up until about mile 6 or 7...but instead of really slipping to a comfortable pace, I just kept pushing. My last few miles were definitely slower than the first, but they weren't that much slower...So I took over 2 min off my time...a PR!!!! I love this race and the eye candy never ever disappoints.

  • Comments: I thought this was a nice showing by Elite. I've done all of their races this year except for San Diego, and they seemed to have it down pretty well here. The porta-potty lines were shorter than ever and there were staggered water stops on each side of the street, which helped congestion. As mentioned above, the kids could have used a little more training, but they did ok. I'd really like to do this race again, maybe with less wine first.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race! Had I not had a marathon in 6 days, I really think I had a chance at PR'ing the race (I would have avoided the wine). I feel like I achieved my goals of an easy, fun, supported training run in a new city. I've done every elite race this year, so am now considered one of their "rock stars". When I do San Antonio next month I'll be a "Super Six." Finally, an interesting thing happened on the way home. RAS26 and I were on the plane to San Diego (don't ask why you go to SD to get to Baltimore) and we were both wearing our race T's. A man getting on the plane asked if we enjoyed the race, and we said yes and asked if he ran it. His response was "No, I put on the race." We both thanked him, and I told him that I had done all of the elite races. He congratulated me and shook my hand. I'm not sure who he was, but he was a great ambassador for elite racing.

  • Comments: I'd been a little turned off by the "rock and roll" aspect of this race, since sometimes I find distractions annoying when I'm running (the bands really bugged me at Bay to Breakers; then again, maybe they were just annoying bands). But I ended up really liking the music and looking forward to the bands. It was a great mix of music, and I liked that they were all cover bands so it was recognizable stuff. (Look, I love original music, but I'm not interested in discovering new bands when I'm running a half mary.) The spectator support in general was awesome for this race. I loved the bands and the cheerleaders and the local residents camped out on lawn chairs in front of their houses. The race was very well organized, especially considering its size. It started on time, there was very little bunching on the course, the volunteers were excellent and there was a ton of stuff available at the finish line (though I was disappointed there were no flip flops -- I'd been told there'd be flip

  • Comments: I liked this race. Maybe I'll really race it next year... :) I hope that my IT band holds up for my marathon, I'm getting really worried about it, because my knee is really hurting after only a half-marathon... sigh...

  • Comments: I have done this race for the 3 years it has existed...I love it. I think it is the best ran event I have ever been a part of. I can't speak highly enough of the event. In a few weeks I may try to run the Silicon Valley Marathon...this will be my 5th time in 11 years, it is not a badly run race, but the difference when running the two so close together is very apparent. One is flawless, the other just seems ok.

  • Comments: I had a great time I wish I had got a few freinds to come with me. It was a great mental boost for me. As I classify myself as a non runner. this was a big milestone on my journey to IRONMAN 09'

  • Comments: The whole business model of the Elite Racing Rock and Roll series I believe is flawed. While the bands on the course are a nice distraction, you go by them so fast and they are so far apart (approx. a mile) that you really don't get much from them. And their plan of having a "headliner" concert after the race is fine...except that they don't start it until 7:00 PM the night of the race--long after everyone who got up at 4:40 AM, and then ran 13 miles, wants to hang around.

  • Comments: Elite is by far the most organized when it comes to stagin these events. The family reunion area was in a downtown park. There was a band playing with some booths. Sprint for live results, New balance gave away recovery kits and full size towels. Crocs were there and souviners. The post race concert was Ozomatli. I thought they were OK. The set seemed a little short to me.

  • Comments: I would recommend this race. Very fun to run with the rock and roll bands alongside the course. It was well organized and we got a lot of goodies including a beach towel from New Balance.

  • Comments: I can't say enough good things about the Rock and Roll team...last year was the first san jose race and I was expecting it to be disorganized, but this group has their stuff together...So I was expecting great things this year...and was not disappointed. Very well run race. More accurate info to come as soon as it is posted.

  • Comments: I am really impressed with the coordination of this inaugural event. As far as I could see, everything went off without a hitch. I really like the family meet area. They have huge poles with letters on them. You can tell everyone where to meet ahead of time. No one gets lost!

  • Comments: For having about 10-12 THOUSAND entrants, this was well run, perfectly organized, well marked, and great!! And they had Amino Vital on course, which is going to become one of my favorite drinks!! I still can't believe I was this fast, especially considering I think I could go faster... 1:35 next year???
