  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: The worst problem was not at all their fault--after they'd marked the course, another group went through and marked, in the same color, with a similar symbol, another course. But the volunteers were right on top of things, pleasant and helpful. The people who rode were great and the those who chose to race were...racers.

  • Comments: so here's how it went: I got out of bed at 4AM, Mike was already up loading the car. We had oatmeal and were on the road by 4:40. He drove I snoozed. We arrived at Hampton Beach just after 6:30 and caught up with Lynda. Checked in and hit the road. It was chilly, overcast, and foggy. I had my arm warmers on and would end up wearing them all day. The ride started by heading into MA for a short 15 mile loop and then back thru Hampton Beach. I rode with a woman who used to live in the area. Mike and Lynda were ahead of me and I was not going to spend the day chasing them down. They were waiting for me at the beach so we regrouped and off we went. Now several different pace lines zipped by us and finally I decided to grab a hold of one and stay with them. It didn't last long but I was left with about 5 women all about my age. The first 40 miles were done at about 20 MPH. But at mile 40 we stopped at the rest stop because Lynda needed water. They had bananas, oranges,
