  • Comments: This is always a fun event. The Snow Hill route was not nearly as crowded as Assateague, but having so many riders is part of the charm. That was lost a bit on the Snow Hill side.

  • Comments: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this ride!!! Extremely well organized, gazillion volunteers, friendly police officers directing traffic. Everyone is happy and it's so awesome to see so many cyclists on the roads. It's like an 8 hour parade of colorful jerseys, bikes (tandems, recumbents, etc). Thought it was funny that every rest area had a banner hanging up that said "Rest Stop MOVED" and then a little ways down the road you would find the rest stop. I fully expected a banner at the tunnel saying "FINISH LINE MOVED". So happy that THIS was my very first CENTURY!!!

  • Comments: I really enjoyed the ride this year, no worries about making it back at a specific time. Followed my nutrition and hydration plan, and it was perfect! I was really suprised I couldn't find water or gatorade at the end. Lot's of tents with BEER and food, had to buy tickets. I really needed water, hmm.. odd. Probably would have hung around a little while, but needed to get back home (dog was home alone and needed to be let out after 12 hours) and I was starting to feel tired - due to cough or flu or whatever it is that I held at bay most of the day. Started to sneeze and cough after the race. Might have even gone for the massage if I wasn't a little tight on time. I plan to ride longer rides over the next year, so that next year I can do the century! It was really nice this year, leaving later (8:30 versus 7am) and the fact that there were many more people on the metric course, probably because the second century ride followed most of the metric course. Really good to have more

  • Comments: Awesome race. I was unpleasantly surprised that we had to buy our sandwiches after the ride. It was nice to have access to the showers.

  • Comments: I need more distance training and remember to ride MY PACE - nutrition is really important (ran out of gels and forgot aspirin and cramp pilsl) - -post race meal (KFC chicken - not a good idea - pizza would have been better) - - -massage would have been good - - - need more sleep the night before and probably a swim the day after.

  • Comments: This was a fun century and the piece on Assateague Island is really cool. My only two complaints were that the start line was a bit confusing and not as well marked as I expected - two banners that said "Seagull Century" but I don't think anything that said "Start". And the biggest disappointment was that after I rode the whole thing without stopping at any of the rest stops, I discovered that the food and drinks at the finish line were all for purchase. I was really bummed that they didn't have any of the stuff like they offered at the rest stops at the end - not even water or a banana. Bummer!

  • Comments: Good ride, the course is marked, which is nice. It was an overcast day, but not a lot of scenery. The Eagleman Course is much prettier. The nicest part of this ride is Assateague Island and the ponies.
