  • Comments: Fun race since it was close to family. Nice message "who are you racing for" -- emotional morning when they said the prayer before the race. I would do it again.

  • Comments: This is a great local race that attracts a lot of competitors. It seems to have gotten bigger and better organized over the years. It was one that I like to do each year. It is also nice that it is only about 5 minutes from my house.

  • Comments: This was my first triathlon (actually first race of any kind) and the training with a goal was great. The race was extremely well organized and was set up well with the finish close to the transition area which was nice for spectators. I will definitely be back.

  • Comments: It being the angels race, I did it in honor of my cousin,(Rick) who was recently and unexpectedly killed. This made it a little rough on my aunt. It was a good time and a great race. It definitely pumped me up for Pinehurst and training for Duke next year. Made me realize how important other races are to keep me motivated towards the A race.

  • Comments: Beautiful course, wonderful facilities (I had a great shower after the race) and nice people. The guy starting the swim (Dave) would call out the name of the person you were racing for and that was a nice touch.

  • Comments: The race did not time TA time, so the swim, bike and run times published by the race organizers are longer than the actual swim, bike and run times ... thus, I have backed out TA times, based on Shannon's splits and my Garmin times. The total time adds up to my race time, but actual times for each event are more accurate using my timing, and backing out TA times separately. This was simply a great experience for a first triathlon. I loved having my lovely Shannon (fitphd) there for me the whole way, as well as Mark (Wakeman) and the Bostic family (jkbostic and BonBonNeaser) there cheering for me! It was also great to have my dad there! The course was fun and fair, and the weather was perfect! I didn't do everything perfectly, but that gives me things to work on for the next race! I love this stuff!

  • Comments: Just want to Thank Jeff and the kids for their support. Also Shannon and Christians dad for all their cheering. Mark (wakeman) came out and cheered us on also which was awesome. I have also used Jeff's times in this report. The times given on the website included T1 & T2. I don't need the extra time included just makes me look slower!
