  • Comments: I really liked the course. It is nice and flat. Great for a first race of the season. It was a hot day, but there was a fair bit of shade on the course. The drink stations only had water...gatorade would have been nice. My only complaint was that the race started about 20minutes late. Not sure what we were waiting for.

  • Comments: Great race that we were able to tie into a trip to Hilton Head to visit Brad's mom and step dad. They've made some good improvements from when we did the race a few years ago. The course gets boring, but as I told Sissy, it's a course for the spectators as they can see the athletes about 6 times during the race. Overall, a great race that I'm sure we'll do again!

  • Comments: very good race. small, but very well run and great conditions. it had a few issues when we did it several years ago (transition area, bathrooms, etc.), but they fixed all of the problems and put on a great race.

  • Comments: This was my first triathlon and my goal was to break 1:20 so I am happy with the results. overall great location, on the beach at Hilton Head Island. I live here but the Holiday Inn on the beach has a great room discount ($60) for the weekend for the racers. I would imagine that is a great way to spend a cheap weekend on Hilton Head Island. The course has 20 sheriff deputies and 25 volunteers so there is someone every 100 meters. I found he course good but my friend crashed his bike pretty bad and needed emergency services but there were none on hand and they had to call 911. After the race there is the awards ceremony and food/drinks provided everyone seemed to gather after and talk. Out of the 170 racers I saw only about 3 people who looked like they were there to win it. Everyone else looked like the average Joe, one guy had a 1960’s road bike with one of those generator lights attached to the wheel. I thought that was pretty cool because he gave it a good try even on that

  • Comments: Got lost on swim, lost chip when removing wetsuit so had to calc bike times and Tran times, spare tube fell off X-Lab and wrapped around rear tire bringing me to a surprising stop, unraveled that crap, hit a car in an intersection it didn't stop and neither did I, found chip in T-2, otherwise an uneventful race. Will write report later. SAG was smokin' today. She was lookin' good on the new bike and she just keeps getting better. The tatts looked so cool.

  • Comments: I just want to say that this race was different than the others in the types of people that were racing. Normally I see all different body types, not today. 99% of these women looked like Kona calendars. I think because of the fear of the water temps this time of year, it tends to keep a lot of the beginners away. I am not usually intimidated, but I think I was a little today. I will not beat myself up for not doing better against them, I am still a beginner and I really have improved times each race. It's just hard to be such a competitive person and, at the same time, be so slow. But when I crossed that finish line, the joy was all still there...times or no times, I thoroughly enjoyed this race and really didn't want it to be over. Okay, back to the laundry.
