Any good ideas for storage of car keys during OWS. I'm going this weekend but no one is staying on the beach and my keys can't get wet. Should I just stuff them in multiple plastic baggies and pray it doesn't leak? Ideas ...

You could always get a little magnet things they make to stash a key for your car by your wheel well if that is a possibility.  Otherwise, how busy is the place you are swimming?  You could always leave them in a backpack on the beach if there were not alot of people around.

This past weekend I stashed mine in an extra cap, placed in my towel.  The "beach" was pretty empty though.

I'll probably get my car stolen this way, but I just leave them in the pocket of my shorts on the towel or beach chair.

I usually just leave them in the bag with towel on the side of the river.  Hasn't been a problem so far.

I always take my key off the ring and put it in my bike rack gutter. You can't see it from anywhere and it hasn't gotten stolen yet.

In my shorts on the beach.  I'm just careful not to jingle them when getting ready for the swim.

My car has keys with chips in them, but you can also get a blank with no chip that will open the door and can turn the ignition cylinder, but the car won't start. I keep one in my glove box. If I don't feel like I can stash the regular keys somewhere if there are too many people around, I'll lock the regular ones in the car and then take the plain non-chip key and attach it to the key loop in my wetsuit.

Wetsuits have a key loop? Hmm...haven't come across that on mine...but maybe I missed it. Where would it be?

Yep, the valet key.  It comes in handy when I go for a run or out to a bar that I don't want to take a purse too and don't want a huge bundle of keys in my pocket (if I have pockets to begin with).  Plus if someone did steal the key (you'd still probably be screwed but...) they would actually have to try the key to find the car rather than just clicking the panic button and following the sound.  Might appear more suspicious to anyone around.

If I'm somewhere and I can't take them with me I stash them somewhere on my car that is out of sight.  It's worked well so far.  Of course, when I do this, I do check to make sure no one is around to see where I put them.

You could go the route of a dear friend who leaves his in the ignition (engine off), windows down...

...with his 180 pound German Shepherd sitting in the passenger seat.

Calls her his German car alarm

I've been using the Aquapac Keymaster for years for windsurfing.  100% waterproof and durable.

 Aquapac Keymaster

MUCH better than the cheap knock-offs at West Marine.

I guess if you add enough "air" in the bag. Easier, though, to tuck it in your tri shirt or wetsuit (or swim trunks if you're so inclined, but I digress ....)
