Subject: RE: M & M gets Teabagged sorta by Brunojccbulldog - 2009-06-01 11:48 AM Do people usually sit with their bodyguards at an awards show? Pretty damn funny, though. Yup. These are exactly the types of functions at which they like to show their bodyguards off. Personal security people are status symbols and they actually try to outdo each other with them. "Who's your security guy? Mine was a Navy Seal with eight kills in the first Gulf War and then he ran Steve Jobs' security team for six years." Seriously. I have a cousin with a very specialized military background. When he left the service, he did personal security for a number of years for a high profile ex-diplomat. When he left that gig I was able to introduce him to some people and he got into the celebrity public appearance security thing to make a few extra bucks here and there. For a little while, because of the status of his previous employer, he was THE in demand personal security guy for music stars and record company execs. Did a lot of these awards shows. |
