Subject: Cyclist Visitor Center in Verona (for IMOO riders and others)

Hey there -

I just thought I'd pass this on.  I was talking to my coach yesterday and she mentioned that the city of Verona has had some issues with cyclists parking at Fireman's Park while riding the IM WI course.   It sounds like during summer weekends, cyclists sometimes kind of "overtake" the park, which creates a problem when others have rented the park for events.  At times, as many as 200 cyclists have left their vehicles in the park for the day.  Also, (unfortunately) there has been a lot of garbage left over from the riders...no BTers I hope!

To address this issue, Rocket Bicyle Studio (RBS) and SBR Coaching in Verona will be open on Saturdays from 6am-Noon.  Cyclists are welcome to park in their parking lot (right across Paoli St from Fireman's Park) and the building will be open for mechanical help, and use of bathrooms and a shower.   Here's a copy of their newsletter regarding this....

Many of you will be starting or riding through the great southwest town of Verona on your way to Paoli, New Glarus and Mount Horeb. Verona has become sort of a visitor's center for all of us cyclists in the past years.

With the growing number of cyclists pedaling through Verona, SBR and RBS is working with the City of Verona to provide safe places to park, with bathroom facilities, bicycle mechanic services, traffic law information and city cycling road maps through town.

Visit the information below for city maps of Verona, cycling routes and parking availability for cyclists.

Cycling Maps & Parking
SBR Coaching, LLC In conjunction with the City of Verona City Administration and Parks & Rec, SBR and RBS will be providing a visitor's center area for all cyclists to park, ride to and from and visit while in Verona, WI.

That's pretty cool.

Especially the part about the showers, for those of us coming from the Chicago area, not having to drive for 2+ hours festering in our own sweat sounds appealing.

Thanks for posting!

Yep, pretty cool!  Well, not about the part of you festering in your own stank, Dumpster.

But, I'll stick with supporting the local BP and buying the post-ride cookies (IF I ever start actually training again.  Maybe Travis and I will start our own LazyAZZ group?   ).
