Well, here's the update. I went to the nifty Triathlon Store (Triathlon World in Pleasant Prairie, for all you locals ) and the guy who owns the place said I could try 'em (AquaSphere XPs ) and return 'em if they didn't work out.
Well, they didn't. While I could get a decent seal without the straps in the store, I couldn't get ANY seal with my swim cap (and that big mass of hair on top of my head while wearing the cap. ) Since I didn't want to return a used product (the guy at the tri store is just so nice ) I didn't even get 'em wet. I used my old Speedos which only leaked a little bit.
I think I'm gonna try some TYRs. He's got some of those at the tri store, too. Maybe I can do an exchange.
I did, however have a great swim workout. It was my first open water swim of the year, and it was my fastest time yet! (The lake I practice in has a designated "triathlon lane" which is 200m long. -- LOVE IT! ) I think I'm more bouyant in open water...crazy thought, huh? |
