Subject: RE: Need Advice....Footpod HRM or GPS HRM? I had the Nike footposd and thought it stunk. I had to re-calibrate evertime I changed surfaces and it didn't handle changes in pace very well (horrible actually ). If I was more than +/-20 sec in pace it would loose it's mind. It really screwed up my training.
That being said, I now have the Polar RS800SD. It's very accurate for both pace and altitude. I ran Hood to coast last year and it was very close on all three legs. Given that each leg was very differnt (terrain and surface ) it really gave me confidence. I was running between 6:00 min/mi and 7:30 and it did great. I'm still kicking around the GPS unit for the bike but I think a dedicated unit is still better.
