Probably not ... but I was the only idiot out there this morning with the 15+ mph sustained winds and 25 degrees .......... the back stretch just frickin' sucked each lap ..... of course that made the front stretch not so bad, but it didn't even things out.

I have done intervals in the snow plenty and even put myself on the elliptical with an knee injury last winter cuz of it.  I have learned somewhat of a lesson and adjust workouts accordingly if ice is in the picture.

You're not the only idiot... 27 degrees in Urbana Maryland during my run this morning! Lesson learned: I need to get some type of mask to keep my face warm and prevent wind burn! Suggestions?

Hope you enjoyed it. I'll do mill workouts rather than risk bad footing.

Yaktrax, and shorty gaitors.  Gotta love'em.  Only if its slippery though.  Bring the snowshoes in case the lane needs to be stomped down.

I'd say that 25 degrees is about the norm for my track workouts lately.  However last week was 33 degrees, 10+ wind and rain.  That one sucked worse than the cold and snow.

Thanks everyone for helping me feel at home....

Just did one yesterday.   Snow, wind, all that.  Beats the treadmill in my mind.

It's a balmy 15 degrees in Denver this morning (9:30 AM). It's not expected to get much warmer throughout the day and the wind is blowing about ten miles an hour. I may go for a run later at lunch time. Sometimes I see people running in the neighborhood at 5:30 AM in colder weather.

I ran this morning in the suburbs of Chicago, with temps in the 20's and some wind. There was a little snow and no ice, but if there is much accumulation, then I go to the dreadmill. I don't like it, but I am getting old and brittle. I will battle sure boredom before possible injury.

God I hate winter. This thread just makes me think of those blated frost-bitten snow runs I have to do each weakend.

High in the thirties, downright balmy, today in northern Indiana.  I'm getting out for sure. Actually planning to do my main set on the track (warm-up and cool-down on the road).  This weekend it's not going to get above 10 deg F - trainer/swim/treadmill time.

I lived in upstate New York growing up. In high school, my track coach would shovel the entire 1st lane of the track during school hours every time it snowed. Then the entire track team would be out there all running in one lane! A bit hard to pass the slow kids!

That's AWESOME!

(It did cross my mind to bring my snowblower, but I thought that was a little excessive.

I live in Northern Canada... went for a run yesterday on the groomed cross country ski trails and it was -13 F , with a bit of a wind but we were fairly sheltered by the trees.. I was frosty frosty all over! Thank goodness for clothes that wick lol

I'd run on the track.. but there is about 4 ft of snow.. so I'd look pretty ridiculous trying to swim around the track

Where else would you do a track workout?
