mr2tony - 2008-01-20 10:27 PM pats v. giants. nobody west of hackensack gives a fack. college football starts in seven short months.

Either it got very crowded EAST of Hackensack all of a sudden...or a lot of people gave a fack.

I give credit where credit is do. Eli, you proved a lot to a lot of people. You had an amazing playoffs and showed people you are as good (I think better) than your brother. Congrats Giants and congrats Eli.

Before we go crowning anyone anything, lets see if he can keep it up for more than one playoff. There are TONS of second rate QB's with 1 year of playoff and Superbowl success.

TONS?

From this list, looking at the QBs on the winning teams... I see...

Brad Johnson
Trent Dilfer
Mark Rypien
Jeff Hostetler
Jim Plunkett

A few.  TONS?  I dunno.  It remains to be seen if Eli will end up on this list, or not... although out of these QBs, no one performed in the Super Bowl like Eli did.

with the exception of Dilfer, most of the QB's on this list were pretty good over the course of their careers. Not getting back to the SB isn't really a fair gauge of the careers of what were for the most part above average quarterbacks.

Don't forget Jim McMahon in 86...

Pretty good isn't what we're talking about. 1st rate QB's are Elway, Brady, Young, McMahon, Theisman, Montana, etc. Those 6 account for alot of Superbowls.

Just as there are "TONS" of Top Tier QB's that have never won the Super Bowl.  I'm sure Dan Marino would trade places with Eli Manning in a second.

Others:

Jim Kelly

Fran Tarkenton

Warren Moon

Dan Fouts

Steve Grogan

Steve McNair

Donovan McNabb

Ken Anderson

Boomer Esiason

Danny White

and (of, course) Kenny O'Brien

Man, I forgot the Sarc font???  It was an Olive Branch to Pats Fans?  At least you didn't diss Kenny O'B!!  That would been cause for re-starting North/South tensions!
