Subject: RE: West Point Olympic Or Richard B. Russell Race? I have not done both, but I would throw a nudge in there for West Point Lake. As was mentioned above, it's true Olympic distance, and only a moderately difficult course. Really, it's as easy as an Olympic can get in this area. The run is mostly flat across a dam, though there are some hills. The bike is rolling, but not extreme in any way. The swim last year was point to point, and not crowded at all. The race is usually a sell out, but it's two months earlier this year than normal, so there's no telling. Good atmosphere, and you generally can't go wrong with a GA multisports event. Stay for the awards and sit close to the speaker, he gives away excellent prizes to whoever answers random questions.. |
