Subject: Does anyone live palm springs/desert springs way?
I ask because we are heading out to desert springs in March. My coach is probably going to make it a run focused week, but I also want to bring my bike. I just dont know if its a good area to ride in, or if there are lots of riding areas around there. I see we will almost butt up to Joshua Tree National Park, but I dont know if there is good biking roads in there or if I should not bother with the bike.??

 I rented a road bike thru them last year..Stayed in palm springs. They have AM rides 6:45 m/w/f of varying intensities. All riders are welcome. The website has more info.

They have the Toyota Desert Tri in nearby La Quinta in April. So there has to be some good biking in the area.

It is possible to get fairly windy at times out there, other times quite calm. March shouldn't be hot yet. Summertime gets ungodly hot.

Bumping this thread to say we're going the weekend of 3/15 for some IMAZ bike training.  Friend did it for IMFL couple years ago, basically said 50 miles one way, no stopping, desert, wind.  Perfect
