Subject: valve extender
I bought a few of the problem-solver presta extenders for my flashpoint 60's. I am having trouble getting enough air in to the tube with the extender in place. I seem to get air comming out of the pump part where it connects to the extender. I never had this issue with the plain valve but now with the extender at about 80 psi i start getting air leaking out... I have to pump like a mad man to get it between 100-110 i would like it to be 110- 120 but there is no way I can get it that high. I am scared of getting a flat during a race... no idea what the co2 pump will do with the extenders. Any suggestions?

Did you put teflon tape on before you put the extender on? You could be leaking air at the connection. Other thing is maybe it's not making a good seal where you connect the pump - try a different pump or different extenders.

yeah I have teflon on the valve... i think it is the pump and the extender... guess ill have to try a different extender since the pump was 100+ and the extenders are like 7.95

I would recommend you find out what the CO2 pump will do BEFORE you have a flat. Best place to do that is in your garage and not 20 miles from home. I had to push my bike home ....once.... a five mile walk barefooted taught me that lesson!

Forget the extenders, they stink. Buy the right tubes with the correct length valve.

Not always possible.

I use valve extenders with no problem.

Okay then, how about:

"Forget the extenders, they stink. Buy the right tubes with the correct length valve when possible, but for heaven's sake go with a valve extender if you must".

I've also used valve extenders without a problem, but just using the right tube (if possible) is just easier.

Forget valve extenders, get 80mm tubes unless you have tubulars in that case you are stuck.
