I have been swimming 3 days each week for 3 months now. I try to have one long swim per week, and up until this month the long swim was not so long. Tonight I swam 2000 without resting at a 145 100 pace and that was a pr for me, it seems crazy because I wasn't even tired when I finished, I felt like I could have gone for another 30 min or so. Has any other BT guys and gals felt like someone has just suddenly flipped the
switch.

I started swimming as a freshman in highschool, and it was a rude awakening. Our practices were hell! The very beginning of the season wasnt too bad, but then we started doing around 6000 yards a practice! It was nottt fun! But then, after a few weeks, it was amazing! I felt so much stronger, and so much more in shape. I was able to keep up with most of the team, and after practice I felt amazing! I did swimming all four years of high school, and my last season ended a few months ago. It's amazing how good you feel after a while! I'm so glad I stuck with it!

haha-- also, the reason i decided not to quit: I got a fortune cookie after eating chinese, and it said something like "With great effort you will succeed and reach your goals." (stupid reason, I know, haha)

Congrats! It is like someone just flips a switch, and when you relax, hold your form, and breathe well, the feeling that you can swim forever feels great.

Wish I knew who or what controlled the switch ... Mine got flipped a few weeks ago, but there are days it gets flipped off too. very frustrating when that happens. Some days I feel like you and think I can swim forever and other days I'm struggling just to get through a few laps and feel like my "form" has abandoned me.

Congrats!

Swimming is definately my weakest link! I have been trying to get to the pool at least three times a week as well and I feel as though each time feels a little easier. Last night I swam 1000m straight in 19 mins and 21 secs which I felt was good for me!

Glad to hear other's 'struggle' in the water sometimes too!

I hate you too ... but congratulations anyways.

To answer you question, yes I experience the "switch" many years ago.  It was quite the exhilirating feeling.  However my damned switch has since turned to the OFF position ...
