Subject: Preparing for my second sprint tri
I'm so glad to have found this website! I began one of the 22 week training programs. Yesterday was the first day of my 5th week and I havent missed a single day of training. For me this is a big accomplishment. I did a sprint tri last summer with only very minimal training. It took me two hours and seven minutes and I was not happy about that. I intend to do much better this summer!

I too did my 1st tri with minimal training (only 1 hour in the pool total ). I had a small swimming background that didn't help as much as I hoped! I mtn bike a lot and ran a marathon 2 months before the tri so the swim is where I lost it. I finished in 2:17. Congrats! Good Luck! Stay strong!

Thanks so much for the kind words. I must say, the people involved in the sport of triathlons are a great bunch. At my race last summer I was amazed at the feeling of being surrounded by positive, encouraging people. I know it's a large part of my continuing on and certainly makes this journey that much more meaningful.

Aside from the touchy feely stuff ) - I could use some advice on what to eat while training. I have tried protein bars and shakes but often they make me nauseated during my training. Any suggestions?
