Ahh yes, Texas Tech football games. I was there a little later, 1999-2003, but still just as much drinking going on. There was a little more searching, but if you couldn't get it in, you weren't trying very hard. You can't beat college football games!

Got Tortillas?

Going out with the fellas tonight, so tomorrow might be the perfect day for an Ode, Booze.  Nursing a hangover, feeling mildly guilty, frantically calling my bank to see just how much money I spent and just as frantically trying to figure out why I have womens clothes in my car...

I think the stars are lining up perfectly for this one!

Go Tech, beat Cal!!!!!!

LOL Sorry, I just don't have the time.  I'm late as it is.  But I will include you, Lara, in the ode  for making you wait.  It is the best I can do....  Who knows, maybe when I roll in tonight I will have the muse faucet flowing and my writing cap on.  I think I am out of my black phase (I haven't written anything dark and foreboding in several days - ugh, you should see some of the poetry) - so it should be humorous, at least in my mind.

TaTa.

Tom, I've read and enjoyed many of your writing samples. But, I've got to tell you that nothing beats your signature tag line!

I will throw a serious post to this thread, not to bring everyone down but I changed my running technique last year and I developed tendinitis. So take your time with your switch.

Now if I could just figure out a way to carry my highball (without spilling) with a peanutbutter sandwich and still maintain a sub 10 min mile average, ah... dare to dream....

dunk the PB sammich into the highball, letting it absorb all the JD it can, and viola - you have a PBJD!

I just got used to counting my swim strokes, I watch my cadence on the bike, and NOW I gotta count my running strides? oy!

thank you, thank you very much....

Now bread choice will play a part - you want a thick, dry bread. Perhaps rye bread might be a good candidate....

Never tried to drink while running ... but I have gone diving drunk (any experience with that scuba-punk?) and THAT is something I would not recommend.

It depends. I've been deeper than I should have been on air and THAT sucked. Talk about feeling like a paranoid drunk... I have however, gone diving hungover - once. In retrospect, really bad idea because hangovers are kinda like heatstroke without the elevated body temp. Dehydration is really a bad idea when diving. But, the experience did help prove that (1) Yes, you can puke throught a regulator (that's why mine are field stripable underwater with no tools) and (2) Yellow-tail snapper will eat anything

And back to the thread at hand... Bear, thanks for the articles. Good info.

-Frank
